We deeply mourn the tragic loss of our dear friend and colleague Mark Lawrence in July 2011.  He enriched all our lives and made extraordinary contributions to our therapeutic community.

Mark Lawrence, MD, trained at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. He has served on the psychiatric faculties of Georgetown University Medical School and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Dr. Lawrence is in private practice, supervising clinicians and treating individuals, couples and groups. He combines imagery with psychodynamic, gestalt, hypnotherapy and behavior modification techniques. His primary interest currently is in developing and promoting a sub-personality theory of psychology and psychopathology (Ego State Psychotherapy). To make his work more accessible to both clinicians and the general public, Dr. Lawrence has developed Self-Connecting Imagery™ (SCI™), a series of images whereby one can explore the various parts of oneself.
