
Imagery for Healing When Talk Therapy is Not Enough
Imagery is the language whereby the mind directs the body according to its intentions. Participants in this course learn both didactically and experientially how to facilitate a variety of imagistic strategies to promote and maintain healing. These strategies include the use of generic healing images, the exploration of body and disease self-image, the use of imagery to access healing resources within the patient, the development of healing images specific to a particular patient, and the elucidation and resolution of underlying issues contributing to disease process. The course will also include imagery techniques to elaborate and resolve conflicts and developmental issues regarding eating, obesity, and weight loss.
