Integrating EMDR with Ego State Psychotherapy
This course reviews the basic concepts of EMDR and Ego State Therapy (EST) and clarifies how EMDR can be understood as a special application of Ego State Therapy; both similarities and differences between EMDR and EST are elucidated. Building on this understanding, participants then learn how to integrate EMDR smoothly and efficiently into their ongoing clinical work, with substantially less reliance on traditional EMDR protocols. The course also develops criteria for selecting patients for such integrative approaches. Specific case examples will be presented, and participants will have the opportunity to discuss case examples from their practices.
